ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

"My religion is very simple.
My religion is kindness."

- His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama

who we are

Founded in April 2019, the Ngari Institute Foundation is a nonprofit religious corporation with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, in Orange County, California. It is a non-sectarian Mahayana Buddhist organization, dedicated to preserving and disseminating Buddha Dharma based on the teachings and guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Our mission is to cultivate the practice of compassion and loving-kindness through two core programs, which:

  1. Raise awareness and financial support for our affiliate organization, the Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics in Saboo Village, Ladakh, India.
  2. Raise awareness and financial support for the Kamalashila Initiative, an NIF fiscally sponsored project that facilitates the Visiting Scholars Program in partnership with the University of California, Irvine.

The Foundation is composed of Buddhist practitioners, who follow the Tibetan Vajrayana tradition and share the commitment of promoting a peaceful and harmonious world. Beside the two primary programs, we occasionally organize and offer public programs and teachings, led by Tibetan Buddhist masters from all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

OUR MISSION

To cultivate compassion and loving-kindness practice through our supported programs.

OUR GOALS

To raise awareness and foreseeable financial support for our projects.
