Latest announcement from the Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics:
Hello, Dear Supporters,
How are you all? Hopefully all our dear supporters and well-wishers are well and with good health.
Here at Ngari Institute, the staff members are very well, with good health, and the Ngari students who are staying with their parents and relatives are also fine and with good health. As you know, Ngari Institute has been closed for regular activities for a whole year, after the Indian government ordered a lockdown in March 2020, although the institute has continued serving some students who have difficulties studying off campus. But today, 28 February 2021, in a meeting of our president, Geshe Tsewang Dorje la, and other members, it was agreed to reopen the Ngari Institute hostel, in accord with the order by the government: “In reference to the Chief Education Officer Leh’s Letter No. MISC/34470-474 dated 24/02/2021, followed by a meeting convened by the Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh, and Chairman, DDMA, Leh, on 21/02/2021 & 26/02/2021, respectively, regarding re-opening of Schools in Leh district, it is hereby ordered that:
“1. All the Govt/Private Schools in Leh district (from class 10th to 12th) shall re-open from 1st March 2021 with all precautionary measures/SOPs annexed as Annexure ‘H’ of this order.
2. Orders regarding re-opening of Schools for the rest of the classes shall be issued separately later on. Till then, all the stakeholders of School Education department Leh shall prepare all arrangements as per COVID-19 SOPs for the reopening of primary & middle level Schools.”
Given this, Ngari Institute has decided to reopen only for our senior students who are studying in class 10, in accord with the order of the local government, and after the above mentioned order, the institute has welcomed back those students. On behalf of all the Ngari staff members and students, I would like to thank all our supporters and well-wishers; hopefully we will be reopening the school for rest of the classes as soon as possible. Please say prayers with us!
